Biscuit and chocolate cake, Grandma’s recipe

The cookie cake is one of the easiest cakes we can make. It is made without an oven and is the typical one to prepare with children. This no-bake chocolate cake recipe is the perfect typical cake for a children’s birthday with an incredible chocolate flavor.

I remember that my sister prepared this cake for me when I was little. We always did it together for my birthday.
I used to make hundreds of biscuit cake recipes on the internet because it’s very simple, I’ve seen them filled with pastry cream, others that are covered with whipped cream… but hey, I’m going to give you my recipe that doesn’t have either I don’t like pastry cream or whipped cream.

Apart from this no-bake chocolate and biscuit cake, on other occasions, I have made others without the need for an oven, such as the no-bake cheesecake, the 3-chocolate cake (if you are a chocolate lover, this is your cake), or an orujo cream and mascarpone (this is very top, I guarantee it).

If you want to use the oven, the ones I recommend without a doubt are the creamy baked cheesecake. This cake, if you have been to the Cañadio restaurant in Santander or the one in Madrid, is the original recipe. They gave it to me and here it is. If you are a chocolate lover, I recommend black beer and chocolate cake.

For chocolate lovers, I can leave you these recipes. For example, some chocolate palm trees, are very quick and easy. The famous chocolate brownie is an American recipe that everyone likes. Or if we already like something simpler, a very fluffy chocolate cake and perfect to accompany with a coffee.

For this recipe, we can use maría type cookies or any other of that type. It must be one of these medium-hard ones, surely there are recipes with digestive-type biscuits but they can absorb a lot of milk and end up a little bad. In this case, I have used one of my favorite cookies, moreover, they are grandmother’s cookies, the classic ones of these square gallons. They have always been in the pantry of my town, delicious.

We will use a rectangular mold simply because I have used square cookies on this occasion but we can use around one.

Well, let’s go with the typical grandmother’s cake, a success of birthdays.

Galician pancakes, traditional recipe

INGREDIENTS FOR MAKING BISCUIT AND CHOCOLATE CAKE

275 ml of milk for the chocolate
300 ml of milk to infuse and dip the cookies
450 grams of chocolate for desserts
the skin of a lemon
Cinnamon powder
cinnamon stick
2 packages of cookies
50 grams of butter

HOW TO MAKE BISCUIT AND CHOCOLATE CAKE

1.- In a saucepan, infuse the milk with the lemon peel, cinnamon sticks, and a little powdered cinnamon. There are people who add sugar, but I don’t like it so sweet and that’s why I haven’t added it. If you want to give it a sweeter touch, add a couple of tablespoons of sugar.

2.- Once it starts to boil, remove and reserve for about 30 minutes with a lid on.
3.- Heat the other part of the milk, once hot add the chocolate and butter. We stir well with a few rods to make the chocolate cream with the chocolate layers.
4.- In a deep plate, dip the cookies one by one. Be careful not to get too soaked. Now we will start assembling the cake.

5.- Cover the biscuit base and continue with layers of chocolate, layer of biscuits, and so on until you reach the top. We can serve it at room temperature or very cold from the fridge.
