PREPARATION:

1st Step:

Heat a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat and add a drizzle of olive oil. Add the ground beef and Italian sausage to the pot, breaking it up with a spoon or spatula. Cook until browned and cooked through.

2nd Step:

When the meat is done cooking, drain the fat and put the pot back on the heat. Put in the onion cubes and garlic mince. Onions should be sautéed until they are fragrant and translucent.

3rd Step:

Pour in the crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, and beef broth. Stir well to combine all the ingredients. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 20 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

4th Step:

While the soup is heating, get the lasagna noodles ready according to the directions. Cut them up before you cook them. Once they’re done cooking, rinse them and put them aside.

5th Step:

Add the cooked lasagna noodles to the soup and gently stir them in, making sure they’re well incorporated. Allow the soup to simmer for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the noodles are tender.

6th Step:

In a small bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, shredded mozzarella cheese, and grated Parmesan cheese. Mix well to create a creamy and cheesy topping.

7th Step:

To serve, ladle the soup into bowls. Top each portion with a dollop of the cheesy mixture and garnish with torn fresh basil leaves.

8th Step:

Enjoy the One Pot Lasagna Soup while it’s still warm and the flavors are at their best. Serve with crusty bread or a side salad for a complete and satisfying meal.
